I³: Innovation, Intelligence, and Introspection
The philosophy of Honors education stands on the frontier of higher education. An interdisciplinary approach reflects our commitment to valuing multiple points of view and to understanding inquiry as stronger when we actively seek connections across disciplines.
In this era of rapid innovation, the world is searching for greater efficiency between what humans do and what machines do. This tension marks a new frontier—one that invites deeper examination of our roles as scholars and critical thinkers. When should intelligence be human-driven, and when should it be machine-derived? How do we engage technology without surrendering judgment, creativity, or ethical responsibility?
Amid these questions, our humanity must not be lost. Introspection is essential to understanding our role in knowledge production, education, and the broader social impact of our work. Reflection grounds innovation and guides intelligence with purpose.
This year, FCHC calls on researchers and scholars to develop and present work through the lens of Innovation, Intelligence, and Introspection (I³). We invite proposals from all disciplines to celebrate the depth, rigor, and transformative power of Honors education.
